I've always used Chrome. At least for this 'update app or save' issue, I don't think it's due to the browser.
I did get a second follow-up, canned reply from Google: 'Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write to us. Our team is currently investigating your report. We hope to have a resolution soon, and will contact you when we have an update or if we need further information. Thank you for your patience. If we can assist you further, please let us know."
