Hi Dianne, all dialog is good. I wonder if could bring our needs/ideas to the attention of who does has the NFC area?
There is a community of NFC developers out there who have years of experience (mainly on J2ME) with NFC using the Contactless JSR. They are familiar with how it works, its positive points and it's shortcomings. I suggest Google looks for some way to engage them in discussion regarding the API evolution and not do it in isolation, or *just* with handset manufacturers or chipset suppliers. If you already do we'd appreciate hints on how to engage. BTW: Samsung mobile innovator (Nexus S) forums and developer programs are a black hole, and I've given up trying. Nokia is much better and their support has us targetting our NFC app at the X-ray not Nexus S for now. I think that collectively we could cone up with a list of NFC API features that would make Android the best NFc platform for developers. My 2cents.
