I did about a week's worth of researching before I decided to post here, in the hopes of finding a fix for an issue I am seeing while installing the ADT plugin.
I am trying to install the ADT plugin in Eclipse 3.6.1 Classic (win32). Each time, the install will make it half way, and get stuck there no matter how long I wait. I have tried a bunch of suggestions, from installing the plugin manually to adding Environment Variables, but nothing seems to help. I tried all of the official steps of installing the plugin (http://developer.android.com/sdk/eclipse- adt.html#installing). The plugin itself seems to download just fine; it just seems to get stuck in the installation phase. When I download the ADT ZIP first and install it, the same thing happens: the "Installing Software" screen in Eclipse is stuck at the "Fetching download.php..." message (usually at 49%, sometimes at 40%). I tried the HTTP vs HTTPS change. If I enter the "download.php..." URL in my browser I can download the XML file just fine. The full URL that displays when it is stuck is: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?format=xml&file=/releases/helios/201006230900/aggregate/&protocol=http&countryCode=us&timeZone=-6&format=xml Some posts online mention that after the Android SDK and AVD Manager has been installed, it will automatically show up in Eclipse under Window -- Android SDK and AVD Manager. In my copy of Eclipse, I do not see this entry under the Window menu item. Does this perhaps point to an issue with my copy of Eclipse? I have tried multiple downloads of Eclipse from different mirrors... The SDK is fully up-to-date, and the ADT plugin matches the SDK. The download location I am using for the ADT plugin is http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/. I am using JDK/JRE 6 update 24. I really would like to get this to work. Right now I have no idea what is causing these issues. Thanks in advance for your expertise. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
