Hello all I am building an app that can play my shoutcast radio station. For starters, I'm just using the standard MediaPlayer and everything seemingly works fine. I just point it to my shoutcast url and it does the rest. However, this does not work for Android 2.1 or lower. Also, I have found that on various devices, people have complained that there is no sound.
I'm wondering if anyone has had any success building a shoutcast media player that can work on all (or most) devices. I'm willing to purchase a 3rd party library if reasonably priced. Is there a better way to do this than using MediaPlayer? thanks in advance for any tips you all can offer.
