First of all, I would think very seriously about not building a new app that supports 1.5 in the middle of 2011.
1.5 doesn't support screen densities, so all resources must be in "drawable." So if you want to support 1.5+, keep your MDPI resources is drawable and then create an HDPI folder if you want. If you won't create an HDPI folder, the system will scale up your MDPI resources. So, if you want to support 1.5, you MUST include MDPI graphics, otherwise you can get away with just HDPI.
