The Android Market doesn't support PRC, so the lack of simplified Chinese is somewhat acceptable.
Of course, the PhD's on the Android Market team don't realize that a significant portion of Singapore's population speaks Mandarid written using simplified characters, so even if you don't support the People's Republic, a large percentage of one of the richest countries in the world is not catered for.
