I recieved my (consumer) G1 just last week, and I have been eager to start hacking away. One of the minor niggles I have had is the inability to search by business name in my contact list - and the overall contact presentation in general.
Rather than reinvent the wheel, I downloaded the Contacts app from the release-1.0 head of the repository, assuming that I could simply implement the new functionality in the ContactsList activity and use the neccessary intents to replace the existing one. Alas, it appears that the SDK does not have the full API exposed for me to simply repackage this activity. More specifically, the Presence class seems to be "missing". Im a bit confused, as I thought that the SDK was current to 1.0 as run on my phone, and the application was taken directly from the 1.0 head. I was wondering if I've somehow made a wrong turn, or if either the SDK or the 1.0 head is incorrectly labelled.
