I have an application that wants to transfer a file to a web server every 15 minutes. Now if in between the 15 minute intervals, a web connection is initiated by some other application on the phone such as web browser, would it be more battery efficient if the application piggy backed on this connection to transfer the file? I think it would be more efficient for GPRS but what about Wi-Fi?
