Sorry to revisit such an old post, but the answer by fadden is precisely what I needed to know, and one that took some effort to dig up. The issue about non-system classes not being loaded will come up if you are implementing callbacks from C into the JVM; there seem to be plenty of other developers running in to this problem.
The reply by Andrew Stadler, "JNI development is not currently supported on the SDK," although true, might be a little misleading.
