Could it be a missing modelview matrix? You're drawing everything at z of zero, and not specifying a model matrix. Maybe that means that the eye is sitting right where you're drawing. Try scrolling out a bit in the model and see if that helps.

Also, if you're drawing in 2d, why are you enabling depth testing?

You might want to turn off face culling until you can see your drawing for the first time. Not sure how if it affects line drawing, but might help a bit, and not entirely sure why it would be necessary in a 2D rendering. Alternatively, swap your near and far values around.

Apart from that I'm not seeing anything wrong with your code.
