I guess I was not clear. Downloaded from the Market and then "run by the user". Yes, the download and install process does not run the APK automatically, but after it has been downloaded the Market App gives the user the the options to "Open" or to "Uninstall". Even if the user exits the Market App after starting the download/install process, the Market posts a Notification where it will automatically launch the App if the user taps the Notification. That's what I meant by "downloaded and run". But my point was that it only has to be installed for it to appear in the list of Widgets available from the home screen long- press dialogs.
