Hi guys, my first post here so I hope this post is in the right place. I am currently writing an app that reads handwriting from a photograph, but I am having an issue doing the image processing.
When you take a photograph it passed the bitmap to a new class and runs some edge detection etc on it. However, this is incredibly slow. I am using getPixel and setPixel on the bitmap to do this. This is unfortunately incredibly slow. I was just wondering, is there a faster way to process the image than this, and without using OpenGL? I am not adverse to using OpenGL but it will add a lot of time to development. Thanks guys. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
