The problem with x-large is that it not recommended to be used for 3.2 and higher, see http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/screens_support.html#DeclaringTabletLayouts, that was the reason to start thinking about whose wXXXdp selectors. > The screen size for the Galaxy Nexus is 320dp x 640dp.
