Sorry if this isn't the right spot. I have an app on the market place (currently #1) it is a collection of bird sounds. About half of them are mine and half are public domain. There's a new app on the market that is in 3rd place. The guy basically took my apk file and took the sounds out and put them in his. I don't care about the public domain sounds, but the others I spent a while creating. This isn't big time, but it is annoying. I was under the impression that the work becomes copyright when it is created, but I have no proof that I made any of them except that my app has been up since Feb. and his just came up this month. Can I do anything? I thought about filling out the google trademark form but I have no proof except my app is older.
Anyone have experience with this? or should I just forget about it. I'm looking for a way to prevent him from stealing any new sounds I create, but I am still new to app creation/programming.
