So, you want to check, if that port is aviable ?

You can use PuTTY ( 
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html ) and 
connect to that server in "RAW" mode...

I just made you a screenshot, it must be anywhere in this post :confused:

Select "RAW" one arrow 1, the ip will be entered in 2 and the port in 3. 
Than you just click "Open" on the verry bottom, and you can write and read 
the stream directly.

If that wasn't, what you are looking for, sorry ;)
