When RC30 was installed on my phone (OTA update some months ago), my
home and dial buttons totally stopped working. And the screen was not
locking anymore.

I did a factory reset in Settings -> SD card & phone storage ->
Factory reset, and it solved the issue (backup all your data before,
you can even backup apks with astro).

You should try this.
