I'm creating an alarm clock app right now but I don't know which direction to go with the event. After reading a bit it doesn't look like I should use java.util.Timer, that appears to be short term. Is there any other functions out there? Or is there some sort of timer event and how would I get this to work in the background? I'm thinking something similar to the built in alarm.
