We have urgent requirement with one of our client's, please review below job description and let me know your interest Title: System Administrator (DYES00005915) Location: San Francisco, CA Duration: 12 Months+ Locals Preferred Description: We are looking for a system administrator to assist the Linux System Architect with day to day running of the Linux infrastructure at Client West Coast sites. Responsibilities include user management, application management for systems like Jira, Gitlab and Jenkins. there will be a need for compliance monitoring and you will play a pivotal role helping discovery science teams to do their work. You will have to be able to work within the team to regally patch servers and systems, doing configuration updating, operating and maintaining system hardware as well as software, managing the failures in the system, etc. Flexibility with an eye on security is a must. You will need to have experience using the cli and knowledge of some of the following Linux flavors: RHEL, CentOS, SLES, OpenSUSE and Ubuntu. Basic Docker knowledge is also a must. Administration level knowledge of applications such as Jira, Atlassian, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Gitlab, Slack and more. A basic understanding of R and python to help understand the computational scientists is a bonus Essential Skills and Abilities: To be a successful system administrator, you should be a self-starter who is highly motivated, detail oriented, flexible and willing to follow the directions given by your superior. You must be ready to learn new things and apply the latest technologies that would help the organization to grow. You must also possess excellent interpersonal skills and should be comfortable working in a team environment. You should be able to work independently and maintain excellent communication skills with the team and should be able to identify the system issues and solve them in an effective manner. There will be times when the job requires you to be working out of hours and around the computational scientists schedules and must be able to work well even under pressure. 1) What hours and days will this person be working? 8am - 5pm .
