5 years of experience in middleware technologies technical support and
middleware administration.

Should have at least 2 years working experience in Middleware MQ
administration.

Good experience with WebSphere Administration on Windows and Linux based
platforms including  – IBM AIX, HP-UX, Linux and Sun Solaris.

Should have experience in building environments from scratch and performing
production deployments.

Should have knowledge of ITIL and 24x7 on-call support, with experience in
troubleshooting complex technical issues.

Willingness and ability to quickly adapt to new environments and learn new
technologies.



The *MQ administration skillset is mandatory for the role* and should
include experience in performing the below activities -



- Install, Configure, Integrate and Maintain WebSphere MQ on Linux, Windows
and Solaris platforms

- Apply RefreshPacks and FixPacks to upgrade MQ Versions either manually or
through automated scripts.  Involve in major and minor MQ upgrades
including backup and recovery procedures.

- Create and configure MQ Objects such as Queue Managers, Local Queues,
Alias Queues, Remote queues, Transmission Queues, Dead Letter Queues,
Clustered Queues, Channels, Listeners, Clusters, Triggers, Processes and
Namelists

- Configure repository Queue Managers in a Clustered environment

- Create MQ Objects in DEVELOPMENT, TEST and PRODUCTION Environments

- Monitor log files and performing daily health checks of MQ Clusters,
Queues and Queue Managers

- Monitor MQ Objects using monitoring tools such as MQMON and/or Dynatrace

- Problem determination using Queue Manager Error logs, clearing Queues
using MQ Commands

- Check and configure MQ Authorities for different Applications teams

- Understanding of MQ TLS security concepts

- Experience in performing integration testing in coordination with
external entities

- Experience in editing and updating CronJobs as needed

- Performance Tuning on Queue Managers and Channels

- Opening support tickets with vendors (such as IBM) and document fixes
into operating manuals

- Perform regular on-call duties such as scheduled MQ bounces during server
upgrades

- Handle production incidents, perform documentation and train team members
on the product as needed
