The HTC 1.1 image and instructions that you have linked to is what I originally put on the phone and still could not see any paid apps, even my own which are not copy protected. After seeing some chatter about this "holiday" release, I tried that and still no luck. I'm going back to the HTC 1.1 image and will try that one again and see if it makes any difference.
