However, according to me, setting the "android:itemBackground" element in an applied theme does not change anything neither, so this work-around is not working: please, tell me if I'm wrong... I went to the same conclusion by analyzing the Android source code, and find that it is a shame that we cannot overload the menu style, by declaring a XML style entry on a style XML element.
