There seems to be a way to get around this problem in 1.5 - I just downloaded the "Bubble" app that has the single reason d'etre of using the built-in sensors. Claims it is running of Cupcake and I have no reason to question that as I've only tried it on 1.1 so far (where a call to context.getSystemService(Context.SENSOR_SERVICE) from a 1.5- built app also hangs). Anyone able/willing to share how this is working out for Bubble and we're scratching our heads? Thanks.
