Curses, I was hoping the Bitmap call that was the common culprit.

Guess I'll try storing the bitmap somewhere and using one of the other
calls anyway, will report back.

Yes, my widgets aren't for display purposes, they're just for clicking
on so the user can initiate a pre-configured set of actions. They
look like application icons.
