You are totally right - VBOs are part of 1.1. G1 glGetString(GL10.GL_VERSION) = "OpenGL ES 1.0-CM" Droid glGetString(GL10.GL_VERSION) = "OpenGL ES 1.1-CM"
So clearly I'm going to have to take this into consideration when evaluating if the system supports the feature. My next question is - how do I get the gles version number? This string is fine but doesn't it give us a number somewhere instead that we can use? I'd rather do that than parse the number out of the string. I tried glGetIntegerv(GL10.GL_VERSION) but it returned 0.
