When I have run into this problem, I check the following:
Window...Preferences...
Select from the left:
* Java
Editor
Content Assist
Advanced
Make sure the first four are checked:
Other Java Proposals
SWT Template Proposals
Template Proposals
Type Proposals
Apply, okay etc. In your Java source, try and invoke the code assist..
if it doesn't appear automatically, force it by Ctrl+Space to force
auto complete.
