I was thinking you could test it on an Android 2.1 emulator device at least, but it force closes due to not finding a sensor. Maybe if you fixed that, just make it show a static view or something when it can't get the sensor, you could at least do a little testing there. Might catch the issue if it is Android 2.1 related rather than Nexus One related.
