Don't rely on GPS being in any Android device. If you write an Android app be prepared for it to fail back to cell triangulation or, at worst, IP location.
The device demoed at the London google dev day (which was most likely the HTC device) was working from wi-fi cell location, but it was indicated that was probably because the demo room had enough shielding from the outside to make a GPS lock impossible.
