Exposing problems and restrictions is part of our work here. With for instance the Nokia Symbian phones, website visitors can just install my (even unsigned) JAR application file right off my website without being sent off to some app store, be it iPhone's or Google's or T- Mobile's or whoever's. There is no "Install blocked" there except for a few operators that still block their customers from installing Java ME applications. Is Google's application distribution policy with Android Market specified anywhere? Will website owners have the option to also let visitors install Android APK files right from their own websites? The Android emulator now suggests that the answer is no, and that this is not an operator restriction but Google's restriction.

I would not like that. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
