Hey guys, I'm currently implementing a OpenStreetMap-MapView for Android.
This (in the end) will be a full alternative for Androids own MapView. (See Youtube-Video:) > http://href.to/QLT Current Features: - Emulator-Rendertime when all MapTiles in Cache: 30ms [Got an Average Laptop] - Many many different OpenStreetMap Renderers ( OSMarender, Mapnik, Cyclemap, OpenAerialMap, .... ) - Animations (smoothness can be set by the developer) - Caching MapTiles to the FileSystem (Overall limit in bytes can be set by the developer) - MapTile MemoryCache is implemented as LRU (number of MapTiles to be cached can be set by the developer) Let me know what you think about this :) ( --> http://href.to/QLT ) Btw: It will be OpenSource! PS: I'm a big fan of Androids MapView, but its not 100% free in licensing terms (i.e. turn-by-turn navigation) Regards, plusminus http://anddev.org # Worlds largest Android Development Community / Tutorials --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
