Lmao! Beautiful scenario and it absolutely describes the way I felt when I
noticed so many basic functions either missing or performing poorly on my
G1. Especially after coming from a HELL of an efficient phone like the
Blackberry Curve. Its like selling a perfectly fine working car for one that
advertises to be cutting edge but upon purchase, lacks some of the most
basic functions like power windows or maybe even a flying car with a kick
start engine, what is the sense?!?

This is m y analogy of the G1

So, here's a scenario, and you tell me if you think it's good
business.

You go buy a car, it's a chilly day when you take it for a test drive.

You've done your research, and even though it's not hit the streets
yet, you really like it, and order one. It comes with power windows, 6
CD changer, radio, the works.

You pick the car up. You load up the CD player with 6 of your
favouritew CD's.
You turn on the radio, and find that it's stuck on one channel at one
volume.
Oh well, you say, you'll listen to some CD's on your way back to the
dealer.
It's a nice day, you go to roll down the power windows, but they won't
move. Nada, nothing.
"I must have a lemon", you think.
You pull up to the dealership, and try to remove your 6 CD's before
returning the Car.
No go. Cannot get them out.

You go talk to the dealer. "Hey, the power windows don't roll down,
the CD's won't eject and the radio is stuck on one station and one
volume".

'Well, that's the way it comes from the factory. You will have to wait
for a 3rd party to update software to get all the other functions. You
should have realised that when you bought it."
"But I assumed that those basic functions would work the way they do
on every other car".
'Ah, well this is not just like every other car. This is a special
car. A new way of building cars. This is the future. But if you're
stuck in the past, we can give you a refund, and you can go back to
one of the old boring cars where everything just works properly"

"Yeah, okay. suits me fine. I'll stick with a boring old car then. "

You grab your refund, and skip next door to buy a car that works.
