this really means that the system server crashes and restarted. this is a rather severe bug that is not expected to happen. it would be interesting to know what caused this, does "adb bugreport" return something for you ?
for the record, a software update should not restart the system without you agreeing to in a special dialog (that says something "a system update is available, ...")
