A thitd party app shouldn't slow the system down on the OS level. If
this has been the case, is there a list of known apps that cause
slowdown?

And to clarify, I'm not having a problem with the browser, I'm having
a problem with the OS after I have left the browser. Once the
browser is closed and I'm dropped back to the desktop, it's then that
the hang occurs.
