I just wanted to add a few comments to this thread. I don't think it is appropriate to discuss business details in this forum, but PV does offer several features as commercial add-on packages on top of the OpenCORE framework including Windows Media Audio and Video and WMDRM support.
Regarding bringing other codecs and parsers into Android, there is work going on in that area and PV would like to help anyone interested in contributing. PV is committed to constantly improving OpenCORE and Android, and the recent release of OpenCORE 2.0 (http:// groups.google.com/group/android-framework/browse_thread/thread/ 92e10684c6f09e16) should help quite a bit with the integration of new codecs using the OpenMAX IL API. There is additional and updated documentation coming very soon including a new one on codec integration. There is another being prepared on parsers and source nodes. I appreciate your patience while these are being finished. I would be interested in getting input on which codecs and formats people would most like to see added. Also is there interest in contributing as part of a collaborative effort? - Greg On Jan 29, 12:41 pm, Dave Sparks <[email protected]> wrote: > There is some documentation on adding OMX codecs here: > > http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=platform/external/opencore.git;a=blo... > > For parsers, I think you're on your own.
