I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that there is no OTA mechanism
in the stock 1.0 phones. They may have added this feature to more
recently released ADP1s but I don't think so. So you have to update
manually, which means downloading the google signed update.zip and
putting at the root of your sdcard and reboot in update mode. After
this first update, you will then be able to get OTA updates.

You may have problems with the google-signed package - I did. If so,
just install the second update.zip which you can download from the
link above.
