How quickly can we say Twitter :). My experience is that VCs look for a unique selling point and how easy it is for competitors to copy you over any business model that's been put together. The USP may be the ability to attract thousands of users, make the company valuable for a takeover, or show a good profit, but the last one is not always the USP that sells it to a VC.
