First off, for acrosser, thank you for your clear and very interesting
points. I agree, people should take initiative and submit patches or
make apps on their own. However, either for people who don't know how
to do that (write the code), or would prefer to leave it to the
professionals who made the platform in the first place, I want to
create a thread where they can post all ideas for future improvements
to Android. Many people own a G1 or have vested interests in its
success, yet don't know how to write code, or the particular language
that the Android source code is written in. Thus, creating a
comprehensive list of ideas for improvements where people in the
Android community can contribute to a product that will end up
benefiting themselves seems like a good start. This could also serve
as a comprehensive list of ideas and improvements for the Google team
developing Android to use and build off of. Though currently,
throughout the internet and in forums people have vented complaints
and expressed their wants and ideas for Android in the future, this
would be more convenient and thus more noticeable and more useful
because it would all be in one place. So, to sum up, this is a place
where people interested in Android can discuss what they want to see
in future models, and converse about where they'd like to see Android
go. I'm sure you don't think Android is perfect, so please, post
below what you'd like to see improved in a future build.
