I am looking to do the same as you; G1 from Ebay, unlock and use with
an existing Orange UK contract. I haven't been able to find much
information on whether the updates would still come down to the G1
over the Orange network, everybody talks about T-Mobile releasing the
updates which would suggest it is a service restricted to T-mobile
contracts.

>From using your G1 on Orange up to now, do you think that the same
updates are all available regardless of network? I am thinking that it
would be awful to buy a G1 and then not be able to get the Cupcake
update when it gets released!
