AndAppStore is already on Koolus port for the FreeRunner, in the NITdroid port, and as anyones allowed to include it in a port may be in a whole number of other places.
I know a number of the porting groups want CupCake to become stable before they release something to the masses, so hopefully the installed user base will increase in the coming months. Then all we need is a marketing campaign ;). One advantage of AM still has over other app stores: being fully integrated into the handset from the very beginning. Other app store applications must be installed to the device first, which I'm afraid lots of users will be too lazy to do. Anyway, this step from Google will just motivate people not to be ignorant on other alternatives.
