I uninstalled a few things, but still haven't tracked down the
culprit, if indeed an app is to blame. I'm hesitant to keep
uninstalling apps looking for an answer because I don't want to lose
the data I've saved.

Here's everything I have installed now:

Any Cut
Astrid
Barcode Scanner
ConnectBot
Jewellust Lite
JMoney (which I wrote, uses no wake locks, network, or services)
Labyrinth Lite
Last.fm
MarketMillionaire
Maths Workout
Mileage
Miles
Missed Reminder
OI Shopping List
Palringo
PapiJump
Retro Defense Lite
Ringdroid
ShopSavvy
Sudoku
System Monitor
Terminal Emulator
Trap!
Twidroid
Twisty
