Worse, by this measure installing any alternative OS, also on a PC is DMCA violation, e.g. booting a Linux Live DVD allows you to access NTFS partitions and ignores the permissions set on the files.
This is exactly the same thing that root access gives us, it allows us to access files that usually not readable to us, as the copy protection is basically nothing else than file permissions disallowing access.
