"AND"? I would think either one is fine. If you can make a living from
the app, then you've clearly "beaten" Google in the minds of your
customers.

I am not very concerned with whether or not developers can make a
living from any particular app. All that matters is whether the app
exists and meets end users' needs, no matter whether it's commercial,
freeware, or open source. As long as the app is out there for people
to use, who cares if anyone is making money from it?
