Since the addition of paid for applications onto the Android Market it has become apparent that my Solo/Maestro UK debit card is not accepted as a valid payment method. Therefore the only applications I am able to download are applications that are 'free' which, as you would all know, are largely 'lite' or 'beta' versions or 'pro' paid for applications.
As with every company google wants to make money and allowing debit card holders to purchase from the Android Market would only help this. I understand that a debit card doesnt work in the same way as a credit card and therefore it may not be possible to allow debit card users the 24 hour refund policy on paid applications. But this is something I would be more than happy to go without if it meant I could actually buy applications. My G1 simply cannot be used to its full potential with this restriction in place. Please anyone with the same problems post your views. If we can get enough demand for debit cards to be accepted as a valid payment method then maybe a google employee could enlighten us to why this is the case and if google plan to allow debit cards as a valid payment method sometime in the near future.
