The PSP has had games with the ability to send a limited version to another PSP 
so you can multi-play for quite a while. The biggest limiter I can see for this 
on Android is lack of Bluetooth file transfer support (imagine an Android app 
offering the user the option to transfer an APK to a friend's 'phone which will 
allow them to play multi-player together via Bluetooth or wifi).

Gifting has also been around a while on systems like steam.

Personally, I think the chances of seeing something like this come to fruition 
in Android in the near future are very small.
