I have the opposite. 1.0 and 1.1 kept turning my WiFi on at times when i had no 3g/e/gprs reception. With 1.5 this all has gone and it works fine. And my bluetooth issues have been fixed too (not being able to turn it on at times).
Like MrChaz said, do you have an app downloaded and running that may be trying to turn your WiFi on all the time?
