In my case, I had no problems whatsoever until some time two days ago. The 3G symbol remains on the display but what I observe is it flashing the up- arrow but the down arrow never lights up, implying that it's still sending but nothing is being received. When I ping from adb, the down arrow does light up but pinging known IPs is the only thing that works.
I still think it might be the network but they think it's ok. They might not have too many people who hold open a 3G connection for as long as the ADP1 does.
