the released phone was ugly and was unproven as a platform.  very few
people bought it, so there isn't really a "market" to speak of.

this will change as soon as the manufacturers and carriers get off
their lazy asses and bring us G2 and i7500, devices that actually look
like decent smartphones and will gain some consumer traction.

the demand for apps corresponds directly with the amount of users
actually on the platform.
