Not available?? You could easily plug in a usb wifi stick in the
computer and use that.

Most tethering goes the other way, i.e. set your computer to use the
phone's network connection. The rationale is that there is not much
point in using the phone for net-stuff when you've got a proper
computer right in front of you. Not to say that it isn't possible,
because it definitely IS...
