I realize that root access can be acquired on most or all android devices in one way or another, but my question is: Can root access be legitimately obtained on a legitimately unlocked HTC MyTouch? What I want to do is purchase an unlocked HTC MyTouch from T-Mobile for the full non-contract price. I am not a T-Mobile service customer and do not intend on becoming one. In this scenario, do they still want to restrict root access?
