On iPhone you need jailbreaked iPhone to extract apps(ex: crackulous), then if someone wants to install this application, he has to jailbreak too. On android, you have to root ur phone to extract Market's copy protected apps but once extracted, the apps can be installed on ANY official android phone, without any modifications.
