My misunderstanding, I thought that native apps weren't allowed on Android. I did some searching and see that there is an NDK available. (Thanks for the heads up.) I don't know what the emulator is written in but you may be right and that it is a matter of simply recompiling for Android's type of ARM. But getting snippy about the fact that I'd pay for an emulator app if someone were inclined to port it isn't fair. I'm not a developer, I'm a consumer. I don't think I'd pay $40 or whatever they are asking for PocketDos for WindowsCE but I'd probably pay $10 - $15 without thinking about it. More than that I'd probably think about what exactly I'd use it for before I bought it. I'm not whining about the fact that someone won't do it for me for free. I'm a middle-aged working mother and grandmother and I simply don't have time to brush up on my creaky C skills to do it or the extra cash to pay someone to do it just for me. (The day you can write an emulator in Perl or Python I'll be all over it, though.) Since this forum is for developers and the thread about emulators, I'm not going to apologize for tossing the idea out there. Someone might have an itch to play Castle - you never know. ;-) Or load their HPLX databases. Or run Qbasic. Or run CGA MS Flight Sim. Who knows? I love vintage software and I'm fairly certain I'm not the only one. (Okay, maybe in this group I am...) So maybe it will be worth someone's time to do it. But I get that it won't be you. That's okay. Your assumption that I'm demanding that other people do stuff for me that I could do myself isn't.
